I am a Registered Nurse in the United States currently working on an Acute Rehab Unit. I have experience in Long Term Care as well as Rehabilitation. The patients that I have cared for have ran the spectrum from walkie-talkies that had joint replacements, to patients that suffered brain injuries and brain attacks, and patients that were placed on ventilators needing tube feed and TPN. I loved my geriatric patients that allowed me to make my workplace the LTC that they chose to live and I am humbled beyond words to meet my Rehab patients at the worst points of their lives and see them take their first steps (again) or regain use of the extremities. All in all, I love my profession.
The goal of this blog is to chronicle the funny, sad, and terrifying world that is nursing and the human experience. As well as to reflect, comment, and bring
News about trends in nursing and healthcare.
As a nurse I get to experience life and death, joy and sadness, fear and incredible bravery and I hope to share that with you and I invite you to share your stories with me.
I hope you enjoy this blog.
